Larry Winters Obituary

Winters, Larry Lee

Larry Lee Winters, age 71, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on December 25, 2024. Born on January 22, 1953, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the cherished son of John and Roberta (Hoke) Winters.

Larry attended Meadowdale High School, graduating in 1971, and later earned a Bachelor's degree in Fire Science from the University of Cincinnati in 1999. His career as a Lieutenant and Shift Commander at the City of Moraine Fire Department was marked by dedication and bravery.

A proud member of St. Johns Masonic Lodge #13 where he served as a Master Mason. Larry exemplified the values of brotherhood and service.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Burr-Winters; his children, Nicole Trefz (Adam) and Daniel Winters along with Pam Lyle, his former wife and mother of his children; stepchildren, Sarah Dunford (Joe), Robert Lucas Jr., and Jennifer Lucas (deceased). He was a proud grandfather to Caden West, Brycen West, Addyson Trefz, and Darwin Winters, and a loving step-grandfather to Aliya Lucas, Raegan Stiegler, Jenavieve Dunford, Robert Lucas III, Edwin Lucas, Steve Freels III, and Sienna Lucas.

Larry is also survived by his siblings: John Winters Jr. (Debi), Cyrus Winters (Kim), and Trudy Robbins (Donald).

Larry will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Party was a great brother. As a past Master of St. Johns 13 he will be missed. Spent many a evening at lodge with him.
