Phyllis J. Cornell, 85, of Springfield, passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025 at her home. She was born in Urbana, Ohio on February 22nd, 1939, the daughter of William and Mildred (Fetters) Baker. Phyllis was a bank manager with National City Bank and retired after 42 years. She was a member of Springfield Church of Christ. Phyllis enjoyed going to the casino and traveling. She most loved time spent with family especially her grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by her children; Dana Wohlman (John II) and Jeffrey Cornell (Libby); a sister, Jane Frey; grandchildren: Jennifer Anderson (Jacob), Kaitlyn Hanan (Nate), Hannah Wohlman, Hailey Wohlman, Jeffrey Cornell and Emily Cornell; great-grandchildren: Matthias, Natalie, Penelope and Delilah. Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Cornell, Jr. in 2007; two siblings: June Stagner and Don Baker. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3rd, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at Littleton & Rue Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday February 4th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
