Matthew Mogus Obituary
Matthew James (JIM) Mogus was born on 05/20/1941 in Canton, OH to Matthew Marvin Mogus and Nellie (Rickard) Mogus, and passed away 01/12/2025 surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his sister and best friend Jane Mogus Tuttle and is missed by his brother-in-law Bill Tuttle Sr. Jim was a beloved uncle to Bill (Barb) Tuttle, Sue (Rick) Jamison, Gail (Will) Tuttle and Bob (Diana) Tuttle. Also dearly missing him are 6 great nephews, 2 great nieces, 1 great great nephew, 1 great great niece and many friends and family.
In high school (Louisville, OH) he was senior class president and valedictorian. Jim earned his bachelor's degree in education at Ohio University and taught social studies for many years in Dayton City schools. He enjoyed coaching high school debate, traveling and playing cards with family & friends. Jim loved his dogs !! His Dobermans, Great Danes and Standard Poodles were his pride and joy.
True to Jim's generous nature he donated his body to Wright State University School of Medicine.
We will dearly miss his wit, intelligence and ready laughter. If you would like to honor Jim please donate to your local humane society.
