Family-Placed Death Notice
RUEFORD HOLLIS, SR. Rueford Hollis, Sr., 64, of Atlanta, passed away August 23, 2005. He was an independent hauling contractor for over 44 years and loved his work. Rueford will be terribly missed but lovingly remembered. He leaves to mourn his passing a wife of 44 years, Jannie Carter Hollis; 3 children, Ronald Hollis, Sr. (LaSandra) of Decatur, Rueford Hollis, Jr of Lithonia and Juanita Jacobs (Ricardo) of Atlanta; 3 grandchildren, LaRonda, Ronald, Jr. and Jai; 2 sisters, Bevelyn Parham of College Park and Wyvonnie Hollis of Dublin, GA; 4 brothers, Curtis Hollis, Jr. (Lucy) of Concord, GA, Major Hollis (Wanda) of Atlanta, Clyde Hollis, Sr. (Betty) of Powder Springs, GA and Calvin Hollis of San Diego, CA; 6 aunts, Precious Howard of Waverly Hall, GA, Mildred Eskins (David), Katie Hollis and Dovie Lee of Columbus, GA, Sallie Smith of Decatur and Patsy Hollis of Ellerslie, GA; 1 uncle, Carl Hollis of Atlanta; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. The remains will lie in state at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Harris County, GA, Saturday, August 27, 2005 from 1:00-2:00 PM, immediately followed by the funeral services which will be officiated by Rev. Willie J. Clark. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 1:00 PM at Anderson & Marshall Funeral Home, 703 Max Anderson Drive, Manchester, GA 31816. (706) 846-258œ46-9878.

I want to express my condolences to the family of Rueford Hollis. I had the privilege of working with Rueford at Mercury Motor Express in Atlanta. Over the years from time to time I would meet or see him in his truck or at a dock delivering. I have fond memories of Rueford. He had a strong work ethic, was responsible and dedicated to his customers. I will miss his quiet businesslike manner and the way he laughed. My prayers are with the Hollis family. May GOD Bless each and every one of you in this time of sorrow.

To Mrs. Hollis and Family: I am so very sorry to hear that someone so precious and dear to you has left this realm, but happy to know that he is with the Lord. Mrs. Hollis provided daycare for my very young children over 20 years ago and I would never have left them in her care had it not been for the very nurturing, spiritual, and loving environment that they both (Mr.& Mrs. Hollis) provided. Mrs. Hollis, may God fill the void in you and your family's heart with HIS love and his peace.
