I just heard about Mike's death last night. He coached my son John several years ago at New Hope (baseball). He did a great job teaching the sport and was always a positive influence and a great role model. He was a super guy and will be missed.

Jimmy, Sarah, Chris, Nick, Haleigh, Renee, Matt, and Betty: My heart and prayers are with you everyday. This is the time when we all need each other more than ever. I am very familiar with the hole it leaves in your heart to part with the ones we love but our Lord is the healer of our hearts. I have been in this family only a short time but I will never forget Mike and Sarah for making me feel so welcomed from the first moment we met. My sweetest memory of Mike was on my wedding day when I married his dad. As I was reciting my vows to Jimmy; promising to love his family as my own, Mike caught my eye for a moment. With that familiar twinkle and the hint of a tear in his eyes, he gave me a "thumbs up" and a little wink of approval and I knew I was "family". It is those special memories that stay in our hearts forever. Mike, we still cannot believe you are gone but you will live on in the two precious children that you loved so very much and are so much like you. I am so blessed to have Nick and Haleigh as my new grandchildren. We will never forget you and will always love you. Until we meet again....

I only knew Mike for a short time. But the time I did know him I know that him and Renee were truly in love and made for each other. He was really a great help and father figure for Mathew. I truly believe that every thing will be better that he was in our lives. Mike you will be messed and remembered for ever.

Mike, I know that me and you fussed and fought at times but what step-parent and step-child dont? You were and still are the closest person to a father that I have ever had. You loved me and my mother abd that is all we ever wanted. Mike I will truley miss you as if you were my own father. Thank you for making me "Tighten Up". I love you.

Words can not bring the comfort you may be seeking, but God can bring the understanding. Mike remains in my heart as a geniune, caring, loving man. His smile always made you feel that time had not passed by so much the next time you saw him. I went through grade school to graduation knowing him and my life was blessed becaused of it. His legacy is in all of us that knew him and we need to carry that forward to others. His passing is a confirmation of "life is but a vapor . . ." May everyone be able to see Mike again, in heaven.

No parent ever expects to outlive their children. I will miss you as long as I live son. You were our first born and I remember the great joy I had then that only grew through the years. I have often looked on in pride as you parented your two precious ones and admired the man you were. One of my fondest memories will be the joy you and I shared at my and Denise's wedding. You just beamed and I remember you giving me a big bear hug and telling me what a perfect couple you thought Denise and I made and how happy you were for us.You brought so much joy to those whose lives you touched and I am so proud to have had you as my son. Rest now and enjoy heaven. Watch for old dad one day to show up and we will laugh and rejoice together once again.

I will miss you! I will miss our conversations each day, even the ones that were really about nothing important, the ones where we just really just talked to talk. I will miss your laugh, your smile and the way you could always make me see the better side of things. You, my big brother, my best friend - I love you and will never understand why this happened. I will forever cherish our time here together. Love, your little sis.
