Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Hodson Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in Afghanistan. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one, Nicolas M. Hodson US Marine Sergeant. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,100 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and want you know that everyone here at Project Compassion does and will always CARE.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.

To the family of Sgt. Hodson,
Please know that just as your loved one will remain in your hearts and minds, his sacrifice and that of your family, will remain with the people he died defending. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for his bravery and selflessness, or the heartache we feel for your loss. May God grant you the peace that passes all understanding.

Know that I speak of you often, your courage both in life and in serving us all. You touched my heart many times and never more than when you came to campus, made a point to visit me, and show me a photo of your son. You were so proud. I have always been proud of you as a beautiful soul and as a soldier.

A Message to Nicholas
Nicholas,
Over the years we have had many discussions regarding, life, love, and the pursuit of happiness. You were always inquisitive on why things happen. Well, as we have always agreed, things happen for a reason, and it’s up to us to make the best of it.
Life - You were faced with a “significant emotion event” in your life, which was your graduation from high school. You had to make a decision, college now or college later. Well, you chose the marines first and college later. This contributed to your quest for ongoing life.
Love – You met and Married Michelon, who was the love of your life. You have now accomplished two you your endeavors.
Happiness – The birth a Marius Hodson was your pursuit of happiness. His birth brought you to the climax of your plans. After our early demise your son Nicholas Jr. was born.
So, your work is complete. While, short it may seem, it is complete. You have now moved on to bigger and better things. I can only hope, that we can fulfill our dreams in the short amount of time on this earth as you have.
See you on the other side,
Uncle Paul

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

I remember the night I was sitting in iraq at the fleet hospital site, when I noticed your face in a news paper. When I realized it was you I almost dropped to the floor. Man I still remember you coming to see me one ceartain day at sickcall back at camp lejeune, you walked past every other corpman in the BAS and came to me saying you didnt feel good. You trusted me as your doc, and I would have put my life on the line for you any day. Its been a long time since you died, and it still bugs me to think about it today. You dont know how many times I wished I was there to atleast try and help you, but atleast we all know your happier now, no more war, no more pain. Not only were you one of my favorite marines, but you were a friend. Nothing hurts me more than to know that I wasnt there when I wanted to be the most. I still have your picture on my computer to this day, and a shirt with your name on it that I wear all the time. No body will ever forget the sacrifice you and the others made.
