Jewel Coats Baker

Jewel Coats Baker was born October 19, 1909, in Mahl, Nacogdoches County, Texas, to James Arthur and Nancy Ellen Nooner Coats. She passed from this life in Tyler, Texas, at 2:10 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2007, at almost 98 years of age. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday September 13, 2007, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Mr. Clark Dugger of Rice Road Church of Christ of Tyler, Texas, and Mr. Norman Whitehorn will be officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband of almost 76 years, Clyde Lavelle Baker of Tyler, Texas; three children, Margie Lister and husband, Hal, of Flint, Texas, Grace Parks of Groves, Texas, and Kenneth Baker and wife, Robyn, of Mansfield, Texas. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Patrick Lister of Chicago, Illinois, Steven Lister of Flint, Texas, Brian Lister and wife, Melody, of Coppell, Texas, Randy Parks of Groves, Texas, Kelli Parks Badeaux and husband, Danny, of Andover, Kansas, Misty Baker Jenney and husband, Jeff, of Dickinson, Texas, Kristopher and Angella Baker of Mansfield, Texas. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Brandon and Jason Lister of Coppell, Texas, Cameron and Hailey Badeaux of Andover, Kansas, and Amber and Kaleb Jenney of Dickinson, Texas; several nephews, nieces and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Velma Hamilton, Olive Scroggins, Effie Campbell, Bonnie Tibbs and Bernice Berry; and three brothers, Opal Coats, Douglas Coats and James Coats. Pallbearers will be Hal Lister, Patrick Lister, Steven Lister, Brian Lister, Randy Parks and Kristopher Baker. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
