William "Pa Sam" Hurst -MACON - William "Pa Sam" Hurst, 85, died Sunday at Heartland Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Parkway Memorial Gardens, Warner Robins. Grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends will serve as Pallbearers. The family will meet friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and suggests that memorial contributions be made to Heartland Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon 31210. -Mr. Hurst was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Legg Hurst, and was the son of the late J. W. and Mattie Scroggins Hurst. He was born in Heidelberg, MS and educated in Laurel, MS. Mr. Hurst served with the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the V.F.W. He was a retired groceryman and had lived in Macon since 1992. -Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Lee and Ronnie Bartlett of Byron and Mary Jane Meherg of Warner Robins; his sons and daughter-in-law, Roy and Juanita Elder of Pegram, TN and Mike Hurst of Virginia; his sister, Juanita Myers of California; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren. -Visit www.mem.com to express tributes. -Snow's Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Pio Nono Avenue has charge of arrangements.
