Roger Allan Hosford Jr. 68, of Ringgold, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008.He was born June 15, 1940 in San Diego to the late Roger Allan Hosford Sr. and Francis Louise Pierce Hosford. He was the eldest of four children. Roger attended Hoover High School and graduated with the class of 1959. Mr. Hosford joined the military soon after, and he was stationed with the HHC2dBn 34th Army. Mr. Hosford married his wife and best friend, Judy McCoy Hosford, on June 25, 1966. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Richard Chappell of Temecula, Calif.; and his parents, Francis Louise and Roger Alan Sr.He is survived by his wife, Judy Hosford; four grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Karen Hosford of Sante, Calif., Sherri and Tom Scroggins of Ringgold, Scott and Michelle Hosford of Hixson, Tenn. and Thomas and Linda Economos; 11 grandchildren, Amanda Scroggins, Michael Scroggins, Jacob Hosford, Amber Hosford, Jerry Logan, Jessi Logan, Nikkolas Economos, Tuesday Economos, Cory Hosford, Melissa Hosford and Kyle Hosford; siblings, Judy Hosford Campbell and her husband Ernie of Anderson, S.C., Betty Hosford Chappell of Temecula and Stan Hosford and his wife Elaine of Dalton; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Family members will deliver a eulogy at 4 p.m.Private burial will be Monday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.Messages and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting the Web site at www.pondersfuneralhome.com.Arrangements are by locally owned and operated Ponders Funeral Home, 138 Melrose Drive, Dalton; (706) 226-4002.

Judy, Sherri, and Scott,
I just want to let you know that I'm thinking and praying for you during this time. I really enjoyed Roger, he was so funny and friendly. I know that he will be missed tremendously!
