There was never a time when I saw Uncle Jimmy that I didn't get a big smile and a hug from him. I was so fortunate to have been born into a family with so many tremendous role models to admire and he was a very huge one to me. His kindness towards everyone seemed never ending, but the love he gave and the things he did for his family were always above and beyond. My grandmother (his older sister Irene) once told me "Jimmy is one of the sweetest men God ever sent us to love". Yes, he truly was and a precious gift to all that knew him.

When we moved to Saint Augustine and began building homes, we were told of those tradesmen to trust and those to avoid. Mr. Adams was one of those to trust and did our heating and air work until he retired. We have missed finding him up in the trusses putting in ductwork, always with a smile - never a complaint. We will miss his friendship. He was very special and heaven has gained one heck of a nice man.

My heart is saddened at the death of Uncle Jimmy. As one of my very favorite uncles, he will be missed. My thoughts are with you and always remember the wonderful memories he left. He left many wonderful memories for me, not only as a child but as I grew into adulthood. May your memories always be with you and the good thoughts of what he left before his illness. May you find comfort, Sincerly, Gail Adams Keeny

There is never enough time to make up for times we failed to spend with each other. We think about missed opportunities that we could have spent with Uncle Jimmy. Now he is gone. I am so glad that I did have time to go to the nursing home and hospital the last few months of his life. I will always have the memories of his last smile. For those who did not have the opportunity, I would like you to know that he was alert until the end and we were able to talk to him and let him know about the family. You know my mom, LaVerne Hartley Conner, took the time to tell her stories! She talked about grandpa and grandma Adams and his brothers and sisters. Things she remembered from his past and the present. Jesus, grant all peace.
