Ruth Evelyn Ebbing

Ruth Evelyn (Myers) Ebbing, 91, died peacefully on June 22, 2009 at the home of her daughter in Jacksonville, FL. Born in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Edwin and Grace (Little) Myers, she was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. On August 16, 1938, she married Raymond George Ebbing, who died in 1979. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for many years, and was a longtime volunteer on the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center CARExpress van. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and St. James Seniors. She is survived by her two children, James Ray Ebbing (Elaine) of Boston, MA and Elaine Ruth Allan (Charles) of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Lisa Allan Layton (Christopher), James Allan, Tanya Ebbing Collins (Christopher) and Andrea Ebbing; and three great-grandchildren, David Charles Layton, Jacob Collins and Bianca Bruhin. She was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Myers Fickett; and a brother, Ray Myers. Ruth will be long remembered for her gentleness, warmth and caring. Her family would like to thank her many special friends and neighbors for their love and support. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Members of Flagler Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star will hold services at the funeral home at 7:30 PM on Thursday. Private interment at Acacia Park Cemetery, North Tonawanda, NY.
