Nancy L. Shipe

SUNBURY - Nancy L. Shipe, 77, of 201 Union St., entered into rest and peace of Heaven on Friday morning, June 26, 2009, at her home.
She was born April 22, 1932, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Mary Moe Reichenbach-Lytle and Robert Emerson Lytle. In 1952, she married Warren Shipe, who survives.
Nancy was employed as a waitress at the Shell Diner and Stuck Brothers Restaurant.
She attended St. Elias Evangelical and Reformed Church, Sunbury.
Nancy was a devoted wife and loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished her family with all her heart. We celebrate the wonderful life we shared with her and all the joy and love she shared with us over the years. Our love for her will always be strong and we will miss her greatly each day until we meet up with her in Heaven.
In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Craig Shipe and Warren Jr. and Tammy Shipe; one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Bill Shipman; like a daughter, Pat Keefer; seven grandchildren, Karen Stapp, Billy and Wyatt Shipman, Nicholas and Justin Shipe, Todd and Stevie Shipe; four great-grandchildren, Brittany and Wesley Stepp, Casey Shipman, and Dustin Shipman; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Stevie Shipe, two sisters, Ellen and Beatrice, and four brothers, Earl, Robert, Gene and Ralph.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by a memorial service at 8, with the Rev. Clair Shaffer officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date in St. Elias Cemetery, Lower Augusta Township.
