Susan Lucks Gardner



Susan Lucks Gardner, born January 7, 1958, beloved wife of Paul Brian Gardner, after a long valiant battle with cancer, passed away on July 6, 2009.

Susie was active in many Colonial Beach organizations, including the Colonial Beach Foundation, Party on the Potomac, the Historical Society, and the Chamber of Commerce. She and her husband, Paul co-owned Blue Moon Productions and the Blue Moon antique shop on North Irving Avenue. She leaves behind her parents, David J. Lucks, Sr. and Elizabeth A. Lucks, step-mother Diana Wilson, Brother David J. Jr., sister-in-law Mary, nieces Megan and Rachel, step-sisters Emily and Alice, aunt Jane Dowrick Whitlow and her husband Michael, uncle Charles Dowrick, Jr. and his wife Laura, as well as nephews and nieces and cousins. Also surviving are her mother- and father-in-law Alice M. and Frank W. Gardner, sisters-in-law Lydia Leeds, April Gardner, and Ami Cannon.

An informal memorial service will be held at Dockside Restaurant on the point in Colonial Beach, Virginia on Thursday, July 16 at 1 p.m., followed by a reception at St. Mary's Parish House at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 203 Dennison St., Colonial Beach, VA 22443.

Susie,
We take for granted that we will always be here. Then one day God calls on us and it's time to go. We have so many wonder memories together and I will always cherish them. Save me a seat as I'll see you again one day. I will love you forever.
