John Patrick Carriger

John Patrick Carriger, 57, of Jenks, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at his residence.The family will greet friends for visitation this evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Bishop's Funeral Home.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Larry Allford officiating with James Crowson assisting. Burial will be at North McAlester Cemetery under direction of Bishop Funeral Service.Born Dec. 25, 1951, in McAlester, to James and Juanita Rhodes Carriger, he graduated from McAlester High School in the class of 1970 and while in high school he played football and made All District. He worked for Rock Island Railroad in McAlester and then moved to Tulsa and worked at Metals Incorporated. He also worked in woodworking, was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing.Survivors include two sons, Bradley Carriger, of Comanche, Texas, John Paul Carriger, of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Skylar, Madison, Hailey and Riley Carriger, of Comanche, Texas; the mother of his children, Paula Carriger, of Tulsa; a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Tom Gleese, of McAlester.Also, a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Shirley Carriger, of Forrest City, Ark.; two aunts, Bobbie June Carriger, of McAlester, Roberta Ann Edwards and husband, Bob, of McAlester; an uncle, Jack Carriger and wife, Louise, of Durant, OklahomaAnd, five nieces, Cindy Lytle and husband, Bill, of Wynn, Ark., Jennifer Meyers and husband, Troy, of Midland, Texas, Krissy Oley and husband, Rick, of McAlester, Karla Sheffield, of McAlester, Krystal Gleese, of Oklahoma City, and several great-nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Juanita Carriger.Pallbearers include Cecil Cable, Larry Finamore, Coy Conley, Don Mitchell, James Hoover and Rick Oley.
