HAVERHILL — Edna M. Amari, 90, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010.
She was born in Heisler, Alberta, Canada, Dec. 11, 1919, daughter of Simon and Mary (Kroetsch) O'Connor.
She loved knitting, crocheting, bowling, overnight trips to the mountains, and rides to the beach. Edna was well-known for her of sense style and her keen sense of humor. She was a member of All Saints Parish. She was wife of the late Samuel Amari.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Samuel Amari and his wife Kathleen of Haverhill; a daughter and best friend, Bonnie Wholley of Haverhill; a sister and her husband, Connie and Al Armstrong of Edmonton, Canada; a sister-in-law, Doris O'Connor of Edmonton, Canada; two grandchildren, Ryan Wholley and Kendel Amari of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Maurice O'Conner; two sisters, Joan Milne and Orpha Wolbeck; a sister-in-law, Frances Shattler; and a brother-in-law, Jake Amari.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. in All Saints Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. At Edna's request there will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 358 Washington St., Haverhill.
