Bobby E. Winham
Services for Bobby Earl Winham will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, with Revs. James Gibson, Mike Everett and Charles Davis officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Winham, 61, died February 5, 2010, at Poplar Springs Nursing Home. He was a Navy veteran; a member of New Hope Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 21; and the South Lauderdale Fire Department, and served as an emergency medical responder. He was commissioner of the John Moss Baseball fields for the 15-16 and 17-18 year old leagues and a big supporter of the Clarkdale basketball, football and softball programs. He is loved and will be dearly missed. The family will cherish the memories of a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved helping people and never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Gloria A. Whitlock Winham; a daughter, Melissa Winham McWhirter and her husband, Michael; three grandsons: Parker, Noah and Kasey McWhirter; a sister, Sandra Winham; a brother, Benny Winham and wife, Sylvia; a mother-in-law, Margaret Whitlock; a brother-in-law, Dennis Whitlock and wife, Vicki; aunts: Sue Winham, Pearl Winham and Rville Knight; uncle, Lester Winham; seven nieces; five nephews; three great nieces; five great-nephews; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry T Winham Sr. and Mary Frances Knight Winham; father-in-law, Leland P. Whitlock; brothers, Harry "Thomas" Winham Jr. and Howard "Bo" Winham .
Pallbearers will be Otis Gough, Jeff Davis, Rick Roberson, Robert Holliday, Jesse Moffett, Joel "Shorty" Ortiz, Terry Winham and Benny Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Parker, Noah and Kasey McWhirter .

Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and for one hour prior to services at the church.

I will always remember that friendly smile that Mr. Bobby seemed to always have. I will forever cherish all those New Year's Eve parties as a young boy when we would shoot countless fireworks at Mr. Bobby's house.
