BLUEFIELD W.Va. — Jack Yearout, devoted husband and loving father, 84, of Bluefield, W.Va., died Tuesday February 23, 2010 at a Bluefield hospital.
Born September 28, 1925 in Bluefield, W.Va., he was a son of the late James Thomas Yearout and Winnie Couch Yearout. Mr. Yearout had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and actively served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was a Co-Owner and Baker at Dutch Oven Pastries in Bluefield and at Deskins Deli & Bakery. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman and gardener.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank Yearout, Geraldine Leffel, Marguerite Ross, Garland Yearout, Evelyn Wilson and James Yearout.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Harman Yearout of the home; four children, Tim Yearout of Princeton, W.Va., Dusty Yearout and his wife Joni of Bluefield, W.Va., Robin Yearout and her husband Stu Gore of Milton, W.Va., and Kevin Yearout of Bluefield; grandchildren, Bonnie Weifenbach, Carynn Spencer, Caleb Yearout, Barry Yearout, Michael Yearout, Dustin Gore and Leah Gore; and a host of great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Allen A. Hammond and the Rev. Ed Fisher officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where family members will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions, if desired, be made to First Baptist Church, 1325 Augusta Street, Bluefield, WV 24701 or to the Bluefield Union Mission, 2203 Bluefield Ave., Bluefield, WV 24701
