I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day...II Timothy 4:7-8
Myrtice Murphree received the most special gift on April 19, 2010, for her 88th birthday. She was escorted by angels into the arms of her Heavenly Father and her loving husband, J.T. Myrt had a natural ability bring joy into the hearts of others with her unique sense of humor. Her love of cooking served as a ministry which touched many lives over the years. She was also known for her warm, contagious smile and her outgoing personality. She was a retired nurse from East End Memorial Hospital and member of Eden Westside Baptist Church.
She leaves behind a family legacy that includes: one daughter, Marie (Ellis) Perrin of Pell City; two sons, Lynn (Pat) Murphree of Church Hill, Tennessee, and Jerry (Jackie) Murphree of Jonesville, Virginia; one brother, Walt Miller of Hayden; six grandchildren, Connie (Benny) Bowman, Kelly (Toni) Perrin, Rebecca Cope, Britt Murphree, Jared Murphree, and Heather (David) Cheney; six great-grandchildren, Joel (Christy) Bowman, Maegan (Vann) Jolly, Cameron Cope, Madison Anlage, Aleigha Cope, Breanna Perrin; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Kelly Perrin, Jared Murphree, Britt Murphree, Joel Bowman, Benny Bowman and Vann Jolly.
Services were held in the Chapel at Usrey Funeral Home. Interment was in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville.

During this time of mourning, I would like to express my sincere condolence at the loss of your loved one. May you find comfort in persistent prayers, as “the peace of God that excels all thought will guard your heart and your mental powers.” [Phil. 4:7] I certainly hope that the help God can give at this time will make a difference.

So sad to hear that Mrs. Murphree will no longer be in our earthly presence. I will always remember her as being a great patient to care for. She always had a smile, even at the end. The family has my condolences and prayers.
