Fleming 'Shorty' Clark, Jr.

ZANESVILLE: Fleming 'Shorty' Clark, Jr., 75, of Zanesville, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 at at his home.

Fleming was born August 13, 1935 to the late Fleming and Ida Verne (Bair) Clark, Sr. in Martin, PA. He graduated from Point Marion High School in PA, in 1975 then joining the Marine Corp two days after graduating. He proudly served for twenty years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He also was a Vietnam veteran. He married his second wife, Linda (Still) Clark on December 20, 1997. Most recently, kept busy by making loom knitted hats. Through his generosity, 500 hundred hats were donated to local school children, the Salvation Army and Operation Christmas Child "The Shoebox Project" headed up by Franklin Graham.

He is survived by his second wife, Linda Clark; step-children, Melissa Faulhaber and Craig Savage both of Zanesville and John Savage of Columbus; two step-sons, Charles Waud of Pleasant City, OH, and Earl Waud Jr. of California; and four brothers, David Eugene Clark of Chalk Hill, PA, Adam Lynn Clark of Worcester, MA, Hugh Lane Clark of Masontown, PA, and Joseph Clark of Point Marion, PA.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by first wife, Helen Patricia (Kambian) Clark; four brothers, Irving, Raymond, Harry and Thurman Clark; and two sisters, Selena Clark and Beverly Barzanzi.

Following Mr. Clark's wishes, cremation has been chosen. There will be a private memorial service at a later date. Condolences may be expressed at burrellfuneralservices.com. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
