Herbie Dey
The dad I never had. To this day, I am still talking about you to any and everybody who would listen!. To me, You were the epitome of what a dad is supposed to be. You also reflected in so many ways, a gentleman of all gentlemen. Thank you for teaching and showing me during your time here.

My heart was saddened when I heard that Mr. Dey had passed on. My prayers are that God will comfort you and your family during this time. I grew up in East Rochester on East Chestnut St. I have fond memories of the Deys' coming to our Little League games. My brother Carl and his wife Pat were close friends of the Deys.

It was a pleasure and an honor to work with Herbie for many years. He was not just a mentor, but a burst of sunshine through any cloudy day. If you needed help, advice or support he was there with the familiar, easy smile. It has been almost 20 years since I saw him last. In a lifetime it is the outstanding people that are remembered. I am happy that my life crossed his life's path. Ed Yaw, USPS-Retired

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
the wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,

He called it ... Dad

Herbie Dey, you have been an awesome reflection to me of a father's love, thank you for showing me the true meaning and love of a father; I will miss talking with you, listening to you but will continue to learn from you....

.....Sleep now and take your rest.

To the Dey Family,
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you. I really only knew David and Duane through my older brother, but if they were the face of the Dey family values, what a tremendously moral, God Loving family it must have been. My only regret would be not getting to know the parents who were responsible for such fine young role-models for me to look up to.
May only the fondest memories of Herbert fill your hearts, and may the Love of God and His Son Jesus, fill your souls.

Mr. Dey was, and in my eyes, still is a great, great man. The world is a lesser place without him. The time I was blessed to spend with him has not only enriched my life but that of my children's as well. Many of the lessons I learned early in life were taught by Mr. Dey, and those lessons continue to be learned by my children today. Thank you so much
