NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mrs. Julia Diane Brown Boyd, 53, of Todd Avenue, entered into rest June 11, 2011 at MCG Health. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011 at First Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Alexander Pope, Jr., officiating. Interment will be in Walker Memorial Park. Mrs. Boyd was a member of First Providence Baptist Church where she served on the Outreach Ministry, Children Church Ministry and Choir Ministry. She was employed by the Veterans Administration Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Survivors include her husband, Lamar Boyd, Jr.; her children, Daryl Boyd, Denesha Boyd and Kaylor Boyd; her mother, Mervie Brown; six brothers, Henry (Susanna) Crawford, Reginald (Renee) Brown, Jimmy (Tanya) Brown, Daniel (Kimberly) Brown, James (Brenda) Brown and Corey Frazier; four sisters, Joan (Frank) Mims, Sylvia (Melvin) Brooks, Julia Brown and Angela Brown; grandchildren, Jarvis Boyd, Jaccara Boyd, JaMarcus Boyd and Brooklyn Brown; aunt, Burnease Coney; a host of other relatives and friends. Diane and I were classmates at Augusta Tech, and worked together at MCG. She was a wonderful coworker and above all, she was my friend. Diane always faced the world with that beautiful angelic smile--I thank God for putting her in my life. May God bless you all.

I was so surprised to hear of Julia's passing. I enjoyed working with her on 4A at the VA. We lift all of her family up in prayer at this sad time, and pray you will be able to focus on her celebration that is going on in heaven. I pray the Holy Spirit comfort you all.
