Carol Foster Obituary

Carol Jardine Foster, a lifetime resident of Teton Valley, passed away on July 3, 2011, at the age of 83.
Carol was born May 16, 1928, in Richvale, to Donald William Jardine and Belle Caldwell. She was the oldest of six children. She attended schools in Richvale, Rexburg and Driggs, and graduated from Teton High School in 1946.
Carol met her future husband, Ross LeRoy Foster, in 1943. They fell in love and after Ross' service in World War II, were married May 8, 1946, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They lived the rest of their lives in Teton Valley.
Carol was a woman of great faith. She had a testimony of the gospel and this was evident by the way she lived each day.
She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings, including organist, Primary president, Relief Society president, visiting teacher, dance instructor, Cub Scout leader and teacher in various capacities.
Carol was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She showed great love and concern for all those she associated with. She spent nearly 30 years caring tirelessly for her youngest son, Jasen, who was injured playing football in 1981.
Carol was a hard worker with many talents. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and she loved to ride horses, work on the farm and spend time with her family. In recognition of her many talents and abilities, she was named Teton County Farm Wife of the Year in 1991.
Carol had great love for her parents, grandparents and other extended family. A glorious and joyful reunion is being held now that she has joined them.
Carol is survived by eight children, Brent Foster (June) of McCammon, Royce Foster (Dee Ann) of Idaho Falls, Barry Foster (Gayla) of Hyde Park, Utah, Ronnie Foster (Elaine) of Cove, Utah, Julene Healey (Lael) of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Jeff Foster (Helen) of Lehi, Utah, Janet Jones (Troy) of Driggs, and Jasen Foster of Driggs; three brothers and one sister, Reed Fayne Jardine (Maxcine), Verle Jardine (Nancy), Garry Jardine (MaeDene), and Lynda Reiley (Robert Marvin); 30 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Lynn Jardine and granddaughter Jamie Foster.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at the Driggs LDS Stake Center in Driggs, with a visitation from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Valley Mortuary in Driggs and then from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery in Tetonia.

Your mother will be greatly missed. We loved her and looked forward to serving her when she would come and visit us at Taylor Chevrolet. A true friend ! She will be sorely missed.

I have so many wonderful of Uncle Ross, Aunt Carol and Jasen. Aunt Carol always sent me Christmas Cards and letters that were so heartfelt with the most beautiful pictures of their lives. She was such a wonderful aunt and she will be greatly missed. I am so thankful to have had her love and influence in my life. Today I am happy for her and know there is a joyous reunion in heaven with Uncle Ross, who she missed and loved so much. I cannot make it today but you are all in my prayers! Love Kris Coleman (Uncle Mel's Granddaughter)
