Kenai resident Denis Roy Youngstrom, 52, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011 at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
A celebration of his life and sharing of memories will be 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, at Kenai Joe's.
Denis was born Oct. 15, 1959. He came to Alaska in 1995 from Farmington, New Mexico with his partner. He helped operate the café at The Place Motel until his illness forced him to stop working.
"Denis is blessed with a great family and many friends. He had a joy for life and loved watching the Denver Broncos play football and also had a great interest in coin collecting. He has gone home to the Lord and will be greatly missed." his family said.
Denis is survived by his parents, Roy and Laverle Youngstrom; a brother and sister-in-law, John and JoAnn Youngstrom; a sister, Monica Doumont; and his partner, Judy Boser.
Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.

Uncle Denis was a wonderful man, loving caring and always there for anyone in need. Thank Aunt Judy for her support and love through all the years.. Many will miss Uncle Denis...

We were raised together by our twin Mom's. Only months apart in age. He was the only one in the world who dropped everything and came to help me when my Son Joseph was in a coma. He stayed til Joseph past away. He was always my best friend and I love him. This is hard to take. Love ya , I'll see ya on the other side cousin.
