AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Ruby H. Artrip, 92, entered into rest on October 11, 2011 at Golden Living Rehab Center Windermere in Augusta. She was born on April 22, 1919 in Williston, S.C. and raised in Barnwell County, S.C. She moved to Augusta, Ga in the early 40's where she met and married her late husband, Edmond (Ed) Artrip. She enjoyed Crocheting, knitting, camping, traveling and working the her flower and vegetable gardens. She is preceded in death by her husband Ed, her parents, Arthur Tillman (Ott) and Lessie Smith hair, her brothers and sisters, Chester, Blanchard, Carl (Gladys) Walter, Wilton (Eunice), Ralph (Gladys) Hiar, Pauline Hair, Dorothy (John) Meyers, Mildred (George) Sperry and a nephew William (Bill) Sperry. Survivors are nephews and nieces, George Sperry, Terry Sperry, Joe (Karen) Meyers, Avon Hair (Anita), Joe (Joyce) Hair, Jean Van Noordt (Willie), Christy (Jack) Shaw, Marie (David) Powell her caretaker. She is also survived by several great nephews and nieces. Graveside service will be held on October 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Chaplin Barbara Grace officiating. The family will receive friends after the service. Family would like to thank the Staff of Windermere, Dr. Jonathon Reimer and Regency Hospice for the care they have provided over the past years. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Windermere Residents, Activity Fund, 36 17 J. Dewey Gray Cir., Augusta, Ga 30909. Regency Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
