Hazel Duvall Obituary

Hazel Irene Duvall 1928 - 2011 Hazel Irene Duvall, 82, of Kuna, Idaho passed away, after a short illness on November 5, 2011, in Meridian, Idaho. Hazel was born in Kingston, AR. on December 30, 1928. She was the fourth of six daughters born to Emmett (Judge) and Sinda Burk Duvall. When she was twelve the family moved to a farm near Kuna, Idaho where she resided most of her life. From a very early age Hazel had many life challenging illnesses that plaqued her throughout her life. Hazel loved flowers and she loved to sing and visit with all her friends and family. She especially looked forward to her weekly lunches and shopping trips with her sisters. She always had a smile for everyone, whether she knew them or not. Hazel was a life time member of the Mora Grange, a member of the Kuna Nazarene Church, The Girls Birthday Club and the Jazzie Red HatClub. Since early May, Hazel had been asking about her "Birthday Party". A big "early" birthday party was held in her hospital room with many family and friends whom she thoroughly enjoyed. (THANK YOU to the Girls Birthday Club!) After our father passed away in 1974, Hazel and our mother stayed on the farm until 1986 and then moved together into an Assisted Living Facility. After our Mother passed away she lived in a couple of different homes until 1993. For the next 13 years she was taken care of in the homes of her two sisters, Minnie and Alice. For the past five years she lived with Danny and Tisha Salas and at "Almost Home" Assisted Living Facility Meridian, ID. A special thanks go out to them for the love and care she received. Thanks also go to the staff on 8C at St Alphonsus Hospital and to Legacy Hospice for their tender care. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Dorothy Griggs, two nephews, one niece and four Brothers-in-Law. She is survived by four sisters, Frankie Barker of Springdale, AR., Pearl Phillips, Boise, Minnie (Jack) Hutchison, Meridian, and Alice (Monty) Leinberger of Boise, Numerous Nieces and Nephews who loved her dearly and a large extend family, plus many, many friends. A viewing will be held Tuesday night, Nov. 8th, at Chapel of the Chimes in Meridian from 6:00-8:00PM". Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Chapel of the Chimes, with burial following at Kuna Cemetery. A reception will follow at the IOOF Hall in Kuna. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity or Legacy Hospice, 680 S Progress Ave. Suite 2A, Meridian ID 83642. The family has entrusted Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, Meridian to care for their family. Please leave condolences and view full obit at www.chapel-of-the-chimes.com
