Donald McCaslin Obituary

Donald P. McCaslin, 78, of Union City and formerly of Corry, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Corry Manor, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Corry on July 2, 1933 a son of the late Frank P. and Grace M. Daniels McCaslin. Don retired from Corry Laser as a machinist. He was a life member of the Corry Fire Department and the Ambulance Service. He was a member of the McCray United Methodist Church, a life social member of the American Legion Post 237, Union City, the Corry VFW Post, and the Union City Moose Club. Don enjoyed camping and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie "Peggy" Caldwell McCaslin who died July 1, 1992; by two sisters, Carol Jaquith and Patricia Bailey and one brother, Jack McCaslin. Don is survived by two sons, Lynn McCaslin and his wife Maureen, Erie, and Scott McCaslin and his wife Brenda, North East; three daughters, Catherine (Kay) Wade and her husband Charles, Corry, Kathleen (Kathy) Rhodes and her husband George, Corry and Marsha McCaslin, McCormick, S.C. and by two sisters, Autumn Lamendola and her husband Tom, Erie, and Donna McCaslin, Corry. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call us at the C.S. Warthman Funeral Home, 69 North Main Street, Union City, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Monday at 11 a.m. with pastor Janet Sill of the McCray United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Union City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 237 Scholarship Fund, 1 South Main St. Union City, PA 16438, or the Regional Home Health and Hospice, 13675 Route 6, Corry, PA 16407.
