Dwight was one of the most faithful and loyal friends a person could have. He was alot of fun as a traveling and dinner companion when we were out of town investigating cases or just at work. He always had truthful comments about things and didn't intend on offending anyone. If he did his comment always was " Oh well". I took Dwight with me to pick out eyeglass frames at Empire Vision. There was an old lady standing next to me as old as Route 9, also looking at glasses. I was trying on glasses and asking Dwight what he thought. This old lady ran out of the store laughing when Dwight said to me " Don't get those glasses," I said "why not!" He looked at me and said "you look like Bullwinkle!" (something I still think of and laugh at) Not only as Dwight's friend but as coworker and supervisor, I can think of no one more dependable and accurate in the quality of his work. I'm sorry and humbled to have lost such a friend and having missed the service and toast. To be honest, everytime I think of Dwight I begin to cry. That must be what happens when you get old. Inasmuch, I tried to make it, but couldn't. Selfish, but I didn't want to make a spectacle of myself so upset. To all of Dwight's family, I am sorry for that. However, I am happy to have had the great pleasure of knowing and working with him and I am elated for his family to have had such a wonderful guy as a husband, father, grandfather and brother. As you, I will miss him forever.

Dwight was a good public servant, who served the people of New York for 35 years. He was not only a professional colleague but a fun guy to work with. He will be missed by those who loved and knew him.
