Jeannette (Jeanne) V. Radford, 91, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away peacefully at the Roberts Care Center in Palatka Sept. 23, 2012, after a long battle with Alzheimer"s disease. Born in Acton Green, London, Jeanne and her husband Francis immigrated in 1952 to Dixon, Ill. In 1954 Francis" company relocated them to New Jersey. In New Jersey Jeanne was a member of the Daughters of the British Empire, Lincoln Park Women"s Club, and Cosmopolitan Associates Inc. In 1988 Jeanne and Francis purchased a home in St. Augustine splitting time between Florida and New Jersey. In 1999 they moved to St. Augustine full time. Jeanne and Francis were members of the local British Club, the Navy League and social groups at the Shores Riverview Club. Both Jeanne and Francis were avid ballroom dancers.
Jeanne is survived by daughter, Linda R. Allen; son, Neal F. Radford, both of St. Augustine; sister, Fay Robertson in England. She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Francis E. Radford.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to an Alzheimer"s disease or hospice organization.
A memorial celebration of her life will occur later this fall.
