Wolfgang Langner Obituary

HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mr. Wolfgang "Wolf" Langner, 64, of Hephzibah, Georgia went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 14, 2012. He was a very active member of Silvercrest Baptist Church and retired after 38 years of service with Winn-Dixie. Wolf was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son and friend. He enjoyed the mountains, especially Gatlinburg, traveling, motorcycle riding, yard work, swimming, woodwork, painting, bird watching and cooking out. He was an avid Falcons' fan. Wolf always enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and dog, Dolly. Crisp chilled air with a hint of dew was his "perfect weather" of choice. When he knew there was snow to be found and wasn't too far away - he would take a day trip to find it and feel it.
Mr. Langner is survived by his loving wife, Laurie Langner; two children, Jeremy Langner and Angela Bumgardner; three grandchildren, Laurie and Joe Langner and Laethon Bumgardner; two brothers, Ed (Tonya) Fortunato and Chris (Gail) Fortunato. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Fortunato and Hildegard Elisabeth Pauline Fortunato.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7-9 PM at Elliott Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 2 PM, Monday, November 19, 2012 at Silvercrest Baptist Church with Pastors John Kilpatrick and Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael Syms, William Syms, Doug Weaver, Larry Whaley, Mike Perkinson, Richard Weathers, Henry Holley and Russ Watkins.

Winn Dixie was my very first job and Wolf was my manager. Wolf no doubt was one of the finest persons that I have known. The encouraging words, direction and constructive opinions you gave me helped to shape me and prepare me for life. I owe a lot of my career success to you Wolf, Thanks. My fondest memories were working with the W/D gang on Walton Way. Wolf you will surely be missed. My Deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the Langner family. Thanks for being such a Wonderful person Wolfgang Langner.

I dedicate my song to Wolf's family.

"My Life Has Just Begun"
If you could see me now
You wouldn't shed a tear
You'd be smiling instead of crying
It's so beautiful here
I wouldn't trade places
With any of you
My life has just begun,
Yes..I've started my life anew.

Just remember that's only a body
That served its purpose there
If we have not all the answers
We have to trust the Lord who cares
He cared enough to die for us
So that our souls could be free
Why not try to live for Him and be
In heaven for eternity.

I thank the Lord for my family
And my friends....
And I hope and I pray
I'll see all of you again
If you'll give your life
To the Savior you'll see
He'll guide you to this heavenly home
He made for you and me.

Mr. Langner was one of my absolute favorite State Farm clients, and a long time Calhoun family friend. I always enjoyed him picking on me and giving me a hard time about having something that says "State Farm" on it... (hence the beach towels he wanted.) He was an absolute pleasure to be around, and always left a smile on my face. We will miss him greatly.

We are so sorry to hear about Wolfs passing. My mom worked with Wolf for many years at Winn Dixie and thought a lot of him. I enjoyed discussing the Falcons with him on FB...we shared a love for the Falcons! He was a good man. Prayers going up for the family.

Laurie, Angie, Laethon, I am so so sorry for your loss, I know personally it is not easy to lose a loved one. But please take peace in knowing that everyone has an appointed time with The Lord, and no one not no one makes that appointment one second to early or a second to late.
