McCormack, Richard L. ROTTERDAM Richard L. McCormack, 78, entered into eternal life Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Howard and Rose Risko Mc Cormack. Dick was a graduate of Schuyler High School and was a US Navy Veteran. He retired from Equifax after 25 plus years of service. Dick was a great sports enthusiast, was known best for his sense of humor and a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society. High school sweetheart and beloved husband of 57 years to Gloria Plue McCormack; loving father of Sabrina Heilmann, Judy Bononi, Erin Vitallo, Kevin McCormack (Nancy), Kyle McCormack (Joyce); the late Keith McCormack and the late Vicki McCormack, his infant daughter; brother of Ruth O'Donnell, Carol Kent, Howard McCormack, Robert McCormack, Donald McCormack the late Thelma, Margaret, Joyce, Alfred and Kenneth McCormack. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; one great-grandson; his daughter-in-law, Tammy McCormack and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 8 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2012 in the Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in The Church of St. Katerie Tekakwitha Parish (formerly the Church of Our Lady of Fatima), 2216 Rosa Road, Niskayuna. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. The family would like to thank the Dialysis Center at The VA Hospital for their care and kindness during Dick's Illness. So very sorry to hear about your dad - he is in GOD's loving arms now, pain free. Gloria, you married a good man, husband, father, grandpa and man about town. He left a legacy that when I think of him, I will smile. He will always be remembered for his awesome personality - he was definitely one in millions and I am so glad to have known him. Your dad left a lasting impression on many people and that is a tribute to him. You are a wonderful family and you have much support. We met through "marriage", Kyle followed your example and married a good one! He was also a great dad to my sister Joyce and she will miss him terribly. You are all in our thoughts + prayers.
