To the Olson Family,
I was saddened to hear of Jon's passing. Having worked with him at TRS for many years I feel I can say he was one of the very best co-workers and a friend. I would often "bump" into Jon and Marian at Spiak's, Bruger's and other places in Latham. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Marian,
Carol & I were quite saddened by the news of Jon's passing. Seems like it was only a couple of weeks ago that the four of us were at breakfast at The Other Company. On behalf of the Civil War Buffs, I express sincere sympathy in the passing of one of our Founding Fathers and a dear, patriotic friend. May the Lord give you and Mary Beth strength during this time of sorrow.

Jon was great to work for at Teachers' Retirement. We worked together for 26 years. He did a thorough job at any task he was assigned. Jon was very organized and worked very hard each day. I know he worked many weekends and holidays. I enjoyed the birthday lunches that Jon, Marian, and I had together. Breakfast at Lakeside Farms was always a great time. He loved their chocolate cake with white frosting. I will miss all of this. I have been very thankful to have Jon and Marian as wonderful friends. I wish Jon much peace and happiness. My sincere sympathies to Marian and Mary Beth.

Marian: I was very sorry to learn of John's passing. He was a very good friend and Civil War buddy. And the three of us were avid Siena fans. I will say a prayer for you.

My words could never do justice attempting to convey the positive influence Jon had at the Teachers' Retirement System. As our HR Administrator Jon's kindness, compassion and empathy for his colleagues was apparent in everything he did. His desire for and pursuit of, the truth and fairness was exemplary, honorable and so very trustworthy. We were so fortunate to work with him and mourn his loss with you.
