Longtime Nikiski resident Robert Clive Mitchell, 58, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at South Peninsula Hospital in Homer.
Memorial services/Potluck will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at The American Legion Post No. 20 in Old Town Kenai. Potluck fellowship will follow the services. Gary Fisher, Commander of American Legion will be officiating.
Mr. Mitchell was born April 25, 1954 in Fullerton, Calif. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy when he was 17 and served up until he was honorably discharged. In 1982 he moved to Kenai where he worked for various companies to include; CH2MHILL, ASRC, Veco, and Petro Marine Services. As a heavy equipment mechanic he serviced trucks through his own business, North Road Salvage. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post No. 20, The Fraternal Order of Moose and the Masonic Lodge. He loved fishing, boating and riding ATVs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William D. and Barbara L. Mitchell and brother, Dennis J. Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife, Monica M. Mitchell of Kenai; son, Thomas W. Mitchell of Springfield, Ore.; daughter, Julia M. Mitchell of Boston, Mass.; sister, Betty Diane of Yuma, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.

I'm sure he'll be with Ray and the 20+ years of their friendship will be rekindled, to live again to raise cain whereever they are.
I didn't know this was an option for Ray, and I discovered a page like this and printed out messages from classmates (East High 1963) which I put in his guest book. It was so nice to hear from people from his past.
