HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Graveside Services for Mrs. Irene Carnes Franklin, 93, of Travis Road, who entered into rest May 20, 2013, will be conducted Friday morning at 11 o'clock in the Langley Cemetery. Rev. Scott Franklin officiating. Mrs. Franklin was a native of Anderson, South Carolina having made Augusta her home for the past 75 years. She retired from Sibley Mill as a weaver. Mrs. Franklin loved fishing, arranging flowers and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her husband James R. Franklin. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Billie Jean and Walter Crawford, Hephzibah, GA; two grandchildren, Walter Crawford, Jr., (Cindy), Michelle Huhn (Jeffery); six great-grandchildren, Logan Crawford, Summerlin Crawford, Brie Crawford, Justin Kuhn, Jeffery Kuhn, Jr., and Caitlin Kuhn. Aunt Rene was a special lady, no matter how ill she felt , she always would give you a smile and say I'm fine. She was truly a gentle lady.
