Michael Joseph Ferrando
Passed away peacefully on May 25, 2013, at age 66, in Redwood City, CA. While Michael endured 14 months of brain tumors that slowly took his life, he never lost his gentle, loving nature. He was born in Palo Alto, CA on October 26, 1946 to Eno and Enes Ferrando. He was a pharmacist for over 40 years in Redwood City, working at Lock Drug and Safeway at Sequoia Station. In the early 1980s, Michael built a beautiful home in the mountains of Arnold, CA. This was his paradise where he spent many happy days with family and friends. Michael developed his creative abilities by becoming a master woodworker and a skilled photographer. He indulged his spirit of adventure by traveling and trekking through many countries. He particularly loved going to his mother's family home in Italy.
Michael is survived by his younger brothers Robert and his wife Melanie of Davis, CA and Stephen, his wife Susan, and their daughters Lauren and Shannon of Redwood City. He also leaves an aunt, Emma Luccini of San Francisco and his cousin, Diane McCauley, her husband Craig, and their sons Christopher and Brian of Granite Bay, CA. Michael also will be missed by his relatives the Corbelli-Ferretti family of Canale, Val Trebbia, Italy.
Following Michael's wishes, his ashes will be laid to rest at Alta Mesa Memorial Park Cemetery in Palo Alto, CA. At his request, there will be no services. Those who wish to give a tangible tribute to Michael might make a donation in his name to the Palo Alto Medical Foundation or to Pathways Home Health and Hospice. The wonderful people of these organizations gave Michael kind and effective care.
We love and miss our dear Michael and carry his memory in our hearts.

Mike was a wonderful son brother friend~
Pharmacy was his passion ~ I still can see him at Lock's in Redwood city ~ He is now working again next to Nat Mangini with their wonderful smiles and stories to tell about trips to Italy cooking Potato Boats and Pasta on the side.
Sad to see another family member pass away ~ the new generations need to keep the connections in tack.
