Yesterday made 10 years since you´ve been gone. The last day I saw you up and alive was July 4, 2013. Never did I think 2 days later would be the day that changed my life. I really didn´t want to think about it because it breaks my heart everytime. Saturday July 6, 2013. My parents´ 14 year anniversary. They dropped me, Dj and Bre off to you and nana´s house. They were on the way to Savannah to celebrate. When we got dropped off, ManMan was there also. We all was sitting in the kitchen/den because you were in the bedroom resting for your next shift. It was so early in the morning I was so excited to see you. I waited 20 minutes before heading back to your bedroom to wake you up. I remember the exact cartoon that was playing on the tv because nana knew I was coming back there to bother you. It was Charlie and Lola. I strongly dislike that cartoon now. I was tapping you, waiting for your response to wake up and greet me, I never got it. I was confused at first and nana was sitting on her side of the bed. I got her attention and that´s when I knew it was serious. She got the telephone, dialed 911 and burst into tears. The operators knew what was happening, as they had knew you very well also. That day was the worst day. I remember the paramedics rolling you out the house and the yard full of people. I was so young but I knew what was going on. I was only 7. I thought you were going to be okay, only a couple of mishaps going on with you. You never woke up. I never heard your voice again. I will never let your name die. I will never forget you. I strive hard for everything because I know it would make you proud. I love you so deeply papa but it makes me happy because I know one day I´m going to get the chance to see you again. Legends never die.

One more thing I want to add lol! I am 16 now pops, you left me when I was 7 :(. I had my 16th birthday photoshoot on your birthday. You may not have been there with me physically, but you were still there. Though the years have become dreadful without you, I still manage to keep going. You meant the world to me man but you knew that though. You still do. I often listen to the song "Nightshift" by The Commodores and think about you. I pray one day we will see each other again in Heaven. I love you x1000!!! I miss you more and more everyday

I meant to add how much I think of you every single day. From the day July 6 2013, my heart hasn´t been the same. Oh how I reminisce on the good times. My nickname you gave me "Thickness :)" hasn´t been forgotten. I will never let anyone else call me that lol. I wish you were here with me physically but I know you are here with me spiritually. It´s almost been 9 years! Oh how time flies. Many may have seem to forgot about you, but your loving granddaughter, Ta´Niya Althonette Dedreze Gibbons will never forget about you!!! I love you so much 761-B forever & always... Until we meet again papa!!
