Her teaching tenure began at St. Johns School where she ultimately became a college counselor. Leaving St. Johns in 1996, she became the Director of College Counseling at The John Cooper School in The Woodlands, TX where she remained until her retirement in 2012.
She is survived by David, her husband of 34 years, her son Daniel, her brother Joel Aresty and wife Pattie as well as three nephews, one niece, and numerous cousins.
She was an active member of Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism where she served on the Board of Directors for several terms. She was a member of the National Honor Society Phi Beta Kappa as well as a member of both The National and Texas Associations of College Admission Counseling and in 2013 she was awarded life member status in the latter. She was also a two-time cancer survivor.
A memorial service will be held at The Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism on Sunday October 20, 2013 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

I was Anne's flatmate for two years whilst we both studied at Sussex University in the UK. She got me into running and serious reading. We remained in touch over the years although we only met up once in recent years. My thoughts are with David and Daniel.

As a college rep who visited John Cooper and a TACAC Board member who worked along side her, Anne was a superb colleague, but even more, she was a gracious and wonderful friend! Her leadership, guidance, and example will be sorely missed in the profession.

David and Daniel,
The program you thoughtfully prepared to honor your wife and mother was an inspiration to all of us there. The many people who came to pay our respects to Anne with you are a testament to how much we all loved and respected her. I thought I was a special friend, but came to realize we all thought that. Anne had a wonderful way to make each of us feel we were special to her. She was very special to me. Thank you for bringing us together.

David and Daniel,
Anne was a special person. She was able to see the best in high school students and help find that perfect match. She was a friend to parents and students throughout the process. I enjoyed sitting in the baseball stands watching our sons play ball and getting to just be parents together.

You are in our thoughts and prayers,
