Tommie Plageman

Tommie Elizabeth Lawson Plageman lived a wonderful and colorful life and brought sunshine to those around her. She served passengers as a stewardess for Eastern Airlines and helped motorists as a driver's license examiner. She brought joy to customers as owner of a bowling center and taught bridge to the wives of Miami Dolphins players. She worked ticket windows at Florida race tracks and did volunteer work as a member of the Broward Young Wives.
Tommie was known to all as "Nana." She loved her family and touched the hearts of many with her kindness. Nana went to be with the Lord on Saturday Jan. 18 at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. and Rubye Lawson Nelson; her husband Joseph Plageman; and her brother, Leonard B. Lawson. She is survived by her son Joseph Plageman and daughter-in-law Kathy Plageman; daughter Judy Rodriguez and son-in-law Ken Rodriguez; daughter Janice Nonnemacher and son-in-law Michael Nonnemacher; sister Hazel Gentry; sister-in-law Patsy Lawson; grandchildren Melanie Nonnemacher, Stephanie Nonnemacher, Amber Caudill, Joshua Rodriguez, Noah Rodriguez and Joy Noelle Rodriguez; and numerous nephews and nieces. No services are planned.
