Mrs Foley ("Fol") is one of the most outstanding role models I had growing up and attending BKW (Class of 1983). Not only was she a great coach and supporter of girls athletics, but she was an advocate for girls being true leaders and striving for accomplishment in their futures. Having someone who believed in you that much gave "her girls" the confidence to succeed. A priceless lesson that stays with you forever and enables you to pass that message on to others. Love you Fol.

The Foley's were so much a part of my BKW experience They taught my favorite classes and extracurricular activities. Mrs. Foley was a wonderful educator and I admired her greatly. I count myself as one of the lucky ones that had the chance to be coached, taught and inspired by her. Condolences to the Foley family , Nickie Gladieux BKW'81

An inspiration in so many ways...a friend, adviser, and great sport. I'll never forget the volleyball play days at Cobleskill college in the late 60's. She brought her kids quite often! There are no words to describe how much you meant to the girls at BKW during our high school years. You made us feel like we were the best of the best and we worked hard because of that. I will always remember the away games the most where we would laugh, cry, sing and rejoice in another BKW outing. You welcomed us into your life, your home and your heart. Rest in Peace, Coach. Julie Foley was the quintessential educator and lady! Her passion for her students knew no limits and her belief in all that was good in people was boundless! I was privileged to know Julie has a colleague, mentor, and friend! She lead the way in acknowledging and elevating the status of Girl's Sports in the Capital Region.

Kelle & family, I am so sorry for your huge loss. I will always remember your mom for her beautiful smile, laughter and sense of humor. She was so fun to be around. I'll always cherish the laughs we had together. She was a great lady who touched many lives. May you find some comfort in knowing her soul is at peace and lives on in you forever. Mrs. Foley empowered me to be a strong woman through athletics. She reminded me to never quit. She taught me to play basketball even though I was not quite 5 feet tall at the time. Mrs. Foley would help me with my difficult times, with difficult teachers and she was more than a Gym Teacher, she was a coach of Life! I ran faster because of her belief in me as Captain of my Cross Country and Track Team at BKW High School - Class of 1991. My heart is with her family today! We loved her and we will remember her as an inspiration to young women everywhere!!! God Bless!!!

My deepest condolences to her loved ones. Foley was a wonderful woman, teacher, coach, friend and confidante. Even though we didn't see each other alot, when we did it was always like we'd just seen each other the day before. Coach will always have a special place in my heart. To Julie's family and Rise, My heart was saddened when I heard of her passing. I, like so many others, have many, many fond memories of her. She was almost like a second mother. She was always there to listen but never hesitated to discipline if she thought you needed it! She was a wonderful coach and phys ed teacher. While it's been a couple of years since I last saw her she was always anxious to hear what was going on in your life and to share hers as well. She was an amazing woman and I know will be missed by her family and friends. Know she's in a better place and smiling down on all of you. Cherish the wonderful memoris you all have of her. Prayers and sympathy to you all.

I love reading that Julie had another group of dedicated followers at the AHN after she left Berne-Knox. It's hard to picture her in any other gym or locker room than the one I knew. The memories I have of her are in the thousands. I graduated in 1975 before Title IX and even back then she made her female athletes feel like they were as important as any male athlete. I went into teaching because Julie Foley told me in 1975 that I would make a good teacher. It's as simple as that. She was the most important adult in my life as a teenager...she knew it, too!

My sincere condolences to members of the Foley family upon the passing of their beloved Julie. We were four year classmates at Ithaca College both graduating in 1958. Our paths crossed some twenty years later through our association with Section Two athletics where she served as Chairman of Girls Soccer. During this interval we shared many experiences and rekindled a friendship from our college years. Julie was a vibrant dedicated warrior who played a prominent and intergal role in the development of girls sports. We can thank her today for that driving force and her tireless efforts in advancing this objective. She has impacted the lives of many including students, athletes coaches, and associates. I am deeply saddened by the loss of this remarkable woman.

I was so sad to hear of the passing of Coach Foley. Many of my classmates at Holy Names remember her as a wonderful cheerleader for the various sports programs - which, surely, she was. I remember her as a person who was always kind and enthusiastic, and always had a smile for me even though I was not an athlete. She was one of the people who made Holy Names the place that I remember, and for that I am grateful! I will miss her.

We met Coachie and Rise at AHN where they were both loved by the girls and the families. They became incredible friends and we shared many special times together. We will miss you Coachie - you were a warm, beautiful, kind and giving person - the world is a better place because of the indelible mark you have left on so many, including us.

She came to B-K-W in my freshman year. We all simply loved her. 50 years later, she still remembered you, your kids (she was their coach also) and asked how everyone was doing. How was that possible after thousands of students? She was remarkable......... Sympathy to her family.

Coachie, as we knew her, came up to our lake house at Sacandaga for our granddaugher Kendra McCoy's graduation party...after dinner, Katherine and Ben took my wife and I and Coachie and her friend for a sunset "senior cruise" on our boat....had a marvelous time chatting and will always be in our memories.....Rest in peace.....the Ladouceur's

Our hearts are broken knowing that we will never be captured by your beautiful and captivating smile. As a result of your passing, my advice to my daughters, is that in your honor, to be a little like you. Foley was the best coach. She instilled the desire to win, do your best, and always be a good sport. I have so many fond memories of her I could write for days on end. There will never be another like her. Her joy for sports and ability to motivate was above and beyond any other coach I have ever had. She will be missed. Until we meet again Foley you will be in my thoughts.

I will miss Julie very much. I worked with her on the New York State Girl's basketball committee and she was a mentor for me. I will miss her smile. My prayers are with her and I know she is up in heaven and our memories here will never end.
