Frieberg, Edwin Carl Jr. ALBANY Edwin Carl Frieberg Jr., 88, died on Friday, December 26, 2014, at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Edwin and Mary Lomasney Frieberg. He graduated from Nott Terrace High School and Siena College. Mr. Frieberg was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He retired as district manager for the Ashland Chemical Company, and later worked at other industrial chemical companies. Mr. Frieberg was a long-time communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany, where he formerly served as president of the home school association. He was recently a communicant of St. John the Evangelist, Schenectady. He was a former member of the Scotia Glenville Senior Center, Wolferts Roost Country Club, University Club and the Old Gray Aires Singing Group. Mr. Frieberg enjoyed traveling, bowling, golf, the beach and the New York Yankees. He was the husband of the late Margaret Ann Kennedy; father of Mary Ellen Frieberg (Michael King), Ann Mahoney (John), Dr. Edwin M. Frieberg, Thomas Frieberg (Suzanne) and the late John Andrew Frieberg; grandfather of Tara Feimster (Wes), Carolyn Mahoney, Laura Moretti (Jeff), Julie Mahoney, Peter Frieberg, Jennifer Frieberg, Joseph Frieberg (Brooke) and Emma Frieberg; great-grandfather of Nick Dunnells, Cassidy Pierre, Colin Feimster and Owen Feimster; brother of the late J. Richard Frieberg; brother-in-law of the Rev. Michael Kennedy, C.M., the late Rev. John Kennedy, C.M., and Brother Michael Kennedy, F.S.C.; uncle of Patricia Jasciewicz, J. Richard Frieberg and Nancy Crawford; several dear friends including Toni, Bob and Lorraine, Linda, Barbara and Patricia. He is also survived by many who loved him dearly and are too numerous to mention. Funeral services, Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at 9:45 a.m., from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany, thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany, at 10:30 a.m., when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
