Antoinette Pantoja
1912-2015
Antoinette Pantoja, 102, of Houston, passed away peacefully the morning of Monday, January 26, 2015. She was born in Jacona, Michoacan, Mexico on November 26, 1912 before migrating to the United States in 1917 and settling in Houston.
Antoinette was a passionate registered nurse. She devoted many years of her career as a caring governess to several prominent Houston families including the Browns, the O'Connors, the Sarofims and the Coates. A true woman of independence, she worked hard to raise her daughter in a time where a single mom was a rarity. Her fondest memories were of her family and the many nights she danced away Houston's historic Rice Hotel.
She is preceded in death by her parents Florentino and Librada Y. Pantoja, and her adult siblings--brothers Nicholas and Juan and sisters Guadalupe Ochoa and Leonor Garcia. Antoinette is survived by her daughter Dolores "Dee" Davis and husband Charlie Davis, granddaughters Danielle Davis and Anita Davis-Linderman, great-granddaughter Kaelynd Antoinette, 3 nieces, 4 nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 6PM-8PM with the Rosary recited at 7PM at Earthman Funeral Home in Stafford. Mass will be held at 11AM Friday, January 30, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Missouri City with graveside services immediately following at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston.
To honor Antoinette, contributions may be made to St. Dominic Village of Houston.
