EVANS, Ga. - Mr. Walton I. Tuner, 79, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior in Heaven on Friday, April 17, 2015. He was a native son of Titusville, Fla., a Lifetime Honorable Mason, and a 20-year U.S. Army Veteran. He had made Evans, Georgia his home since 1978. He loved his career as a Certified Dental Technician in both the Army and as a civilian in the Civil Service. He loved fishing, being on the water, and cooking. He was a loving and caring husband of 55 years to Ingrid L. Turner, and father to the late Richard F. Turner, Doris Turner Collins (husband John), Dolores Turner Pearson (husband Michael), Nathan Turner (wife Emmi), and Jason S. Turner (fiancee Heather). He has three grandchildren: Sara, Jessalyn, and Alex, along with three great grandchildren; Ansleigh, Kaylee, and Callison. There will be a private visitation with the immediate family on Monday, April 10, 2015. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Martinez United Methodist Church, 3614 Washington Road, Augusta, Ga. 30907 (706-863-6541) with the Reverend Gary McWorter officiating. After the service, everyone is invited for refreshments in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers or if you so desire, memorials may be made to Martinez United Methodist Church. Thomas L. Sharon and I give our condolences. We both worked with Walt for many years at the ADL. I fished with Walt many times. He was a nice guy and it was a pleasure to work with him. May the peace of our Lord Jesus be with you in this time of sorrow.
