Joe J. Lopez, Jr. was called home by the Lord on May 8, 2015, at the age of 72. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on August 15, 1942. He retired from Goodyear and Tire Co., and was the founder and president of the S. A. Wings Soccer Organization,coaching for 15 years and winning 2 state titles. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary R. Lopez; son, Anthony V. Lopez; father, Joe J. Lopez, Sr.; mother, Angelica Juarez Lopez; brothers, Roland & Moses Lopez; nephew, Abraham Lopez, Jr. He is loved and will be missed by his sons, Larry Lopez, Eric Lopez and Patrick Lopez; granddaughter, Priscilla Lopez; brothers, Abraham Lopez, Sr. (Gloria) and Armando Lopez (Vicky); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Procession departs the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015, for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann Catholic Church, 210 St. Ann Street, with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III. Services under the direction of Castillo Mission Funeral Home.
