1924-2015
Mrs. Ruth S. Dory passed away November 16, 2015. She was a fourth generation native Houstonian, and grew up at the foot of the River Oaks area (Green Pond). She attended Gregory Elementary and Booker T. Washington high school, graduating in 1940. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Education from Prairie View A & M and her Master from Texas Southern University. She is survived by a beloved daughter Stephanie A. Dory and a host of relatives, colleagues, and friends. A visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:55 AM with funeral services beginning at 11:00 on Tuesday November 24, 2015. Both Services will be held at Wheeler Ave. Baptist Church, 3826 Wheeler Ave. Reverend Bill Lawson, Pastor Emeritus. Dr. Marcus Cosby, Senior Pastor. The interment will be at Paradise North Cemetery.
