Betsy Thompson

Betsy Thompson, 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in San Antonio, Texas. Born Robbie Elizabeth Wilson on August 19, 1944, Betsy grew up in Baytown, Texas. Her parents, G.W. and Maurine Wilson, called her their "little blond angel." After attending Robert E. Lee High School and Texas Tech, Betsy enjoyed a 26 year career in the title industry, where she made a great many friends.

Betsy brought joy to all who knew her and was always available to those near and dear to her heart. She always knew how to make a person feel truly special. She had a great sense of humor and could always find the lighter side of any situation. She was known for having a gift with words and for calling friends and family "sweetheart," "darling", "honey", or "baby", and always sent clever texts to make others smile or laugh.

Betsy will be truly missed by her family and all those that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband of 39 years, Richard Thompson; her son, Carrick Walker, his wife Lura, and grandson, Greyson; her sister, Sue Barnum; her uncle, Donald E. Wilson, and his wife Carol; her niece, Betsy Morris, and her children, Katie, Ryan, and Bradford; her nephew, Jeff Barnum, his wife Louisa, and daughters, Iren and Farranika; her brother-in-law, Ronnie Thompson, and his wife Ann, and his children, Ron Thompson and Brandy Ludlum; and numerous family and dear friends.

Her family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Navarre Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 5010 N. Main St., Baytown, Texas, 77521, with Rev. Nick Novak officiating. Burial will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens, 8624 Garth Rd, Baytown, Texas.
