Alva Lee Alexander, 75, of Bacliff, Texas, passed away on Feb 9th, 2016 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster, Texas. Known to most as "A.L." or "AL", he was born in Hewitt, Oklahoma, on September 12, 1940 to Clinton and Lois Alexander. A.L. and Pamela Alexander married on Dec 6, 1989 and shared the next 26 years together with their large, blended family. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Clinton Armond and Wesley Roscoe Alexander.
As a young man, A.L. was a painter and steeplejack by trade and a general manager for Able Maintenance. In 1979 he formed his own company, Liberty Tower and Painting. He remained the CFO and consultant of the family business until his death. As a dedicated son, brother, nephew, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, businessman, and entrepreneur, he was the pillar of his business and his family.
A.L. was an avid annual supporter of the Bayshore Little League, the Bacliff Volunteer Fire Department, and numerous charities and organizations. He had a deep love for America and patriotism, hard work, and helping others become successful. For those who knew him, these qualities were apparent in every aspect of his life.
A.L. is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Pamela Alexander; 4 sisters, Pat Brawley and husband Ray, Linda Hunt and husband Marshall, Shirley Coble and husband David, Virginia Thomas; Aunts, Naomi Copeland and husband Donald, Glenna Alexander; 7 children- sons, Gary Alexander and wife Darlene, Eric Alexander and wife Kim, Joseph Smith, Charlie Blasberg and wife Becky; daughters, Margaret Morgan and husband Roy, Robin Lamb, Nancy Briggs and husband Eric; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, friends.
A.L.'s celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. Viewing will be held from 9:00a.m.-11:00am, with chapel services following at 11:00am, officiated by Jim Headrick. Graveside services to follow at Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 13747 Eastex Freeway (HWY 59), Houston, Texas, 77039.
