Jeffrey "Jeff" Wayne Parsons

Jeffrey "Jeff" Wayne Parsons, age 58, of San Francisco passed away February 20, 2016 after a long fight with multiple illnesses at California Pacific Medical Center. He is survived by his mother, Arliss "Ann" Parsons of Wickliffe, Ohio; his brother, James Parsons of Euclid, Ohio; and his sister, Sue Scott (nee Parsons) of Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father Wendell Parsons of Wickliffe, Ohio and his brother, Ronald Parsons of Euclid, Ohio.
Jeff was a Budget Manager for the Hearst Corporation at the San Francisco Chronicle since 1991. For many years Jeff was a member and avid supporter of the San Francisco Gay Softball League (SFGSL). Jeff was a player, a team manager, and also served as Treasurer on the SFGSL Board of Directors from 2008-2012. Jeff was also a member of the International Gay Bowling Organization and was active in the San Francisco Community Bowling League and the Tavern Guild for several years. Jeff enjoyed going to both the San Francisco Symphony and Ballet as often as possible and was a season ticket holder for many years. He also refreshed himself with traveling. He participated in tournaments across the country for softball and bowling, as well as spending many vacations abroad visiting friends. One of the kindest things he routinely did was opening his home to friends at the holidays so everyone had a place to go for a good meal and a sense of family.
