Barbara Carolyn Russell
Barbara Carolyn Russell (also known as Bobbie),Born December 5, 1924, died suddenly on April 6th,2016. Daughter of Carrie Strobridge Russell and Thomas Bartlett Russell, sister of Eleanor Russell Chandler. Barbara spent her growing up years in Hayward, California; She went on to study at San Jose State. A classy woman who loved animals, nature and fashion. A highlight of her work career was working for the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympics. Eventually she settled in Palo Alto and had a fulfilling career working at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) which led to many life long friendships. Barbara is survived by her beloved dog, Tony and her 3 nieces and nephews-in-law, Leona & Dale Steele, Jan &Steve Hunter, Marg Chandler & Richard Schechter; Grand nieces, Sheila Lane, Jeana Steele, & Samantha Steel; Grand Nephews, Sean Hunter, Ryan Hunter & Chris Morrissey. Bobbie was such a lovely human being who I will never forget. She had such a kind and compassionate heart.
I will miss her dearly, but what a blessing she was to all of us who knew her.
