I am so sorry to hear this. I didn't know Martha well, but we met cordially on several occasions after she and Tom were together. Tom and I were college roommates, and I am so sorry to hear that both are no longer with us. This family is in my prayers.

Allison,
I met your mom when you and Jennifer started kindergarten at St. Cecilia and enjoyed her sense of humor and friendliness from the first time we talked. We bonded over softball games, Girl Scout outings, and Bake Sales in the cafeteria. I was so saddened to hear about your mom's death. She was such a warm, loving person and I know you will miss her so much. Just remember all of the good times and love she shared with us all. She was always so proud of you, and now, your little boys.
God bless you all,
Tina McCarthy

Martha, my fellow Girl Scout leader, it is hard to believe that you are gone. A beautiful life cut short from ruthless cancer. I remember when we went camping with the Girl Scouts we would complain about being the 2 oldest Mom's camping. Emily & Allyson had a grand time! May the Holy Spirit wrap his wings around Ally & your family and grant you peace. Blessings & hugs, Alison Picheloup ( Mrs P) & family

There is never enough time with the ones we love. They, like Martha, are God's spirit personified. We must appreciate and reflect on every precious moment. Martha was loved and deeply missed by many of us who she mentored, laughed and commiserated with. She had a mind like a steel trap and recalled arcane pieces of history and incidences with ease and shared them with a charming grace. She loved her family dearly and served humanity well. She will be well-received, but we will miss her. Prayers and peace to her family and friends.

Tom and I always enjoyed sharing a glass of wine with Martha and listening to her stories. We loved her smile, her wit, and the way she embraced life, no matter what came her way. We will greatly miss her.

Allison, am so sorry to learn your Mom passed away so young. I knew her well from HGAC and remember her love of cats as she brought me a stray once which she insisted I keep, which I did. With love from, Rowena Ballas

Although I only knew Martha for a short time, she welcomed me into her heart and life which allowed me to see the depths of caring and compassion. She will be deeply missed, her advice cherished forever, and her passion for giving never surpassed.

Martha was like a second mom to me in my childhood, I loved being at my neighborhood "family" house because Martha and Tom were both so welcoming and fun and loving. Martha was so open, quick-witted, and candid, she made a very warm and positive impact on my life.

Martha affected so many lives with her light and love, including the countless she served and those that were fortunate to call her a friend. Her spirit, stories, and matter-of-fact humor was so enjoyable to be around. She always talked about her family, especially her grandsons, sharing updates, accomplishments, and precious pictures. They are in my prayers.

As a newcomer to Texas, Martha was my "go to" person for all things Texas. She even taught me my very favorite Texas expression, "all y'all" and shared with me the significance of BOI. She was a kind, beautiful soul and had sparkling, smiling eyes. What I will remember most however, was her love for her daughter, son-in-law and her adorable grandbabies. May God welcome her and may perpetual light shine upon her. Rest in peace my friend.

Martha was a blessing to me every time our paths crossed. She always had a warm, genuine smile, a receptive ear and was just plain kind to the bone. She's now dancing on streets of gold and rejoicing in eternal youth and health with our Savior. I cherish the promises we have that one day again, our paths will cross!

I got to know Martha from being a friend of her daughter, Allison, in high school. She was always fun to talk to and be around. When her husband died she showed how strong she really was by not losing her caring and loving spirit. She believed in God and knew that Tom was in a better place. My prayers are with her family. I hope that knowing she is in no more pain and reunited with her husband and sister can bring some confort. I loved her and will truly miss knowing she is alive and working for good in this world.

Martha's smile was always followed by a great story. The proud native Houstonian she was, her eyes danced every time she would talk about sites, landmarks, and great people who made a positive difference. We could talk 'Houston' for a good while, but her eyes and smile lit brightest when she talked about her daughter and her precious grandsons.

Martha Grady was an outstanding individual and friend. She loved God and her family above all else. Allison, Wes, and her grandkids made her glow when she spoke of them. She absolutely delighted in others successes and was there to help when things weren't successful. Martha was a sunbeam in the lives of my daughter and myself, and I suspect in many others as well. Rest in peace, Roomie. With all our love and complete respect...Sarah and Elsa xoxo

I had the opportunity to work with Martha at Catholic Charities. My office was next door from hers and I enjoyed going over to her office just to talk and catch up. She always bragged about her twin grandbabies, daughter and son in law. She was a kind hearted, sweet and always eager to work lady. I will miss Martha and will keep the family in my prayers as they face this difficult time. May God give them comfort. She's a beautiful angel now.

Martha was an exceptional person - cheerful, positive, with an incredible "can-do" spirit. She had a deep faith in God, and had a light inside of her. She radiated with the love of her family and especially those wonderful grandsons! Martha -- I am so glad to have known and worked with you.

Heaven has added one more... I knew Martha to be a woman of steadfast faith, compassion, and a hugely giving soul. There are so many people she helped and touched and befriended. May her love carry on in everyone she ever knew.
