Victor Geerts Obituary
1946-2016
Vic Geerts passed away July 11, 2016, in Plano, TX. He was born November 18, 1946, in Hawthorne, CA. He attended high school at Bellarmine College Preparatory and enlisted in the United States Navy where he served in Vietnam. He then studied Electronics at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. Vic was a Postal Inspector with the United States Post Office and retired after 25 years. Vic was also a professional actor in theatre and film. Vic will be known for his "larger than life" personality and he had a passion for the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and watching nature.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Geerts; parents, Victor Fred Geerts and Eva Marie Ragland; sisters, Carol Ebbett and Mary Geerts, and grandchild, Trey Geerts.
Survivors include children, Vic Geerts Jr, Tammy Leibham (Todd) and Adam Geerts (Dana); grandchildren, Mitchell, Hannah, Jacob and Karis; sister, Jan Ehmke; he was a big brother to Valerian May-Butler and he has numerous other relatives, friends and previous co-workers.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on July 23rd, 2016 at Carnes Funeral Home-Texas City. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Gulf Coast Big Brothers Big Sisters, Inc. at 1413 Tremont St., Galveston, TX 77550.

I was stationed at NAAS Meridian Miss with Vic ...also in Calif....he was best man at my wedding there in 1969. Great guy! He will be missed!!

So many memories, I don't know where to begin. I am so glad we had those happy/sad days together in the hospital. You were so brave and didn't want to see me cry so you were your sweet, funny self, squeezing my hand so hard. Your children were wonderful through this whole thing. I got to know Tammy while we stayed at your beautiful home in Washington. She is wonderful. I will always remember you in that gorgeous Seabeck setting. I will keep you in my heart until we are together once more. You promised you'd be waiting for me. Karen
