Mr. Cecil made a personal impact on me and my career. He was all about doing the right thing, being accountable, and being truthful. I got in a tough spot years back and went to him for advice. He told me, "own it, be honest, fix it, go on to the next one" and I did.
He was always straight with everyone and he knew his drawings and projects like the back of his hand. What a fabulous mentor.

There are many in the Houston Construction Industry who learned the right way to do business from this fine man. I am proud to say I am one of them. Sincerest regrets.

Jimmy was a very special person to me during our late teen years. We had many good times and I have fond memories of the great person he was. He was an excellent football player and artist. I am so happy he had a loving wife and family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

There are men and women I remember from my youth because of their integrity, their passion for life, and their deep and caring friendship. Jimmy Cecil was and will always be at the top of this list. I terribly regret that I have not been able to continue a treasured friendship due to logistics and demanding careers. Jimmy, you were and will always be a source of stability and peace to me.
